Career Profiles
Name: Gillian Zincke
Job: Insight Manager
1. How did you get into your role?
I had 5 years experience working in audience research elsewhere and was ready to move on. I saw this role advertised and applied. I had to give a presentation at my interview showing exactly what I would do in the role and what kind of research techniques I would use to provide the best insight.
2. What do you love about your job?
Working in Research means I have an involvement in practically everything and with everyone in the business. Perfect for a nosy person like me!
3. What advice would you give someone looking to get into TV?
Watch it! It is amazing the amount of people who want to work in TV but don’t watch a lot. If you don’t know what is being produced, what channels are out there, how they’re being marketed, keep up to date with new platform innovations etc then you will be at a disadvantage.
4. If you could do any other job what would it be?
I would be a wildlife photographer – but without all the waiting around. The thought of travelling to the most beautiful places in the world and seeing the most spectacular sights sounds amazing, but not if I have to crouch down in a ditch for 3 weeks solid waiting for a big ant to walk by!
